County Teams
One of the key areas of Dorset Tennis & Padel’s activity is the selection, training and fielding of teams to represent Dorset in inter-county events (e.g. County Cup). The Inter County Cup gives players at all age groups, the opportunity to represent their county and to enjoy some competitive padel within a team environment.

A weekend of tense shootouts for Dorset at the UK Padel O40s County Championships 2026.
The weekend kicked off with a tough opening mixed match against strong opponents Kent. A closely fought encounter saw our team edge the win in a shootout. The next two matches went to Dorset with the final group match against Avon. A tough one but the team dug deep securing another shootout win. With four wins from four, the team topped the group and progressed to the quarter finals v South Wales. A tight contest going to a shootout with Dorset narrowly missing out on a place in the semi-final with the win going to South Wales who went on to reach the final.
The men’s team had a tough draw, with 2025 winners, Surrey and 2024 winners Channel Islands in their group. Saturday brought two narrow defeats, including a match decided by a second-set tie-break. The team responded brilliantly on Sunday with a convincing win over Wiltshire, taking real momentum into the final group match against Surrey, who once again showed their quality as last year’s champions and this year’s runners-up. Plenty of positives, strong performances and valuable learnings to build on for next year.
Congratulations to Simon England - National Champion!

Congratulations to Simon England, who, alongside his partner Jon from our neighbouring county of Hampshire & IoW, claimed the Men’s 60+ title at the LTA Padel National Championships.
The Championships were held at Rocket Padel, Bristol, 4th to 7th December. Simon and Jon made an impressive start by defeating the No 1 seeds in a thrilling first-round match, 6-3, 6-7(3), 10-8. Their winning form continued throughout the tournament with a convincing victory in the final, 6 - 2, 6 - 1 securing the national title.
A fantastic achievement.

Both teams hit the court on Saturday with our Mixed team up first against Lancashire. A brilliant effort from the team who came out strong with a 2-0 win. A hard fought match followed against Middlesex, who edged the win.
Our Men’s team enjoyed an awesome first day with back-to-back wins vs Hampshire and Scotland South. Sunday morning, the team kicked things off with a thriller against Lincolnshire. With the match at 2-2, it all came down to a nail-biting tie-break……………….. and Dorset smashed it! A battle for a place in the Main Draw followed vs Middlesex. Intense rallies, huge energy and yet another tie-break! Middlesex just edged it 11-9 but a brilliant 2nd place for Dorset in the Group.
Massive shoutout to BOTH our Men’s and Mixed teams – outstanding effort, teamwork, and spirit from everyone.
Men's O60s Padel Team in Action at the UK Padel County Championships

Fantastic team effort from our Men’s O60s Padel team at the UK Padel County O60 Championships, 6th and 7th September at Rocket Padel, Bristol.
The team came incredibly close to winning their Group, with two hard fought matches decided by 10-point tie-breaks that just went the opposition’s way. A great fight from the team all the way through!
