Our 18U teams were in action at the weekend (20th to 22nd March) for County Cup.
The Teams
Girls | Grace, Lola, Iraja, Sophie, Freya, Poppy, Sayuri, Sophia
Boys | Aidan, Olivier, Erik, Noah, Ruen, Lewis, Finley, Tom
Our girls team were competing at The Essex Golf & Country Club, while the boys were at David Lloyd, Coventry. 18U CC debuts for Sayuri, Sophie, Poppy, Noah, Ruen and Tom.
The girls, in Group 2A, delivered some excellent performances, going into the final day playing for 1st place v Essex having beaten Cambridgeshire and Bucks. The team battled hard with a couple of singles matches that could have gone either way, but Essex proved tough opponents and took the win. A fantastic effort saw Dorset finish as runners-up in the Group, just missing out on promotion to Division 1.
The boys faced a challenging weekend in Division 3B against three highly ranked counties, Warwickshire, Essex and Suffolk. Some hard-fought matches saw Aidan claim 2 wins from 3 in singles, while Finn added 1 from 2. In doubles, Aidan and Lewis went unbeaten with 2 from 2 and Olivier and Lewis also secured an excellent win against Essex.
An excellent weekend of quality tennis for the Dorset boys and a great learning experience.
This was the last 18U County Cup for Lola,who has played for 4 years, Olivier, 4 years, Lewis, 3 years and Finn, 2 years. Our thanks for your commitment and contribution over the years.
